ALCAT Food Sensitivity Testing
Identify food intolerances and sensitivities to over 350 substances associated with chronic inflammation and health problems.
Allergy OR Intolerance?
Food intolerance is much more common than food allergies. As a delayed immune response, symptoms can occur anywhere from 12 hours to 3 or more days after consumption or exposure. It has been suggested that upwards of 70–80% of the U.S. population has treatable food intolerance.
Food Allergy
- Immediate immune response (IgE mediated)
- Hives, shortness of breath, upset stomach
- Can cause anaphylaxis in severe cases
- Even tiny amounts can trigger reaction
- ALCAT does NOT test for this type
Food Intolerance
- Delayed immune response (12 hrs to 3+ days)
- Symptoms vary and are unpredictable
- Much more common than food allergies
- Small amounts may be tolerated
- ALCAT identifies these intolerances
Precision Testing
Identify Hidden Food Sensitivities at the Cellular Level
The ALCAT test measures your white blood cell response to over 450 foods, chemicals, and other substances — revealing delayed immune reactions that standard allergy tests miss entirely.
Unlike IgG testing, ALCAT captures the full spectrum of immune pathways, providing a comprehensive roadmap for an elimination diet tailored to your unique biology.

Symptoms of Food Intolerance
Symptoms range variably and unpredictably. Unfortunately, from a conventional perspective, symptoms clearly linked to food intolerance are too often identified as integral to syndromes or named illnesses.
Why ALCAT?
The more important clinical puzzle to solve is why the immune system is so reactive in the first place. Being aware of food, chemical, or mold sensitivities that cause immune reactions is an important step in eliminating all sources of inflammation — quelling the fire, so to speak.
Highly Sensitive & Objective
The ALCAT test is a highly sensitive, objective test for assessing which foods you may be intolerant or sensitive to.
350+ Substances Tested
Identifies reactions to over 350 foods, chemicals, and other substances associated with inflammation correlated to chronic health problems.
Immune Cell Culture Approach
Unlike IgG testing, ALCAT is an immune cell culture and direct testing approach that is far more meaningful based on clinical experience.
Hundreds of Thousands Helped
The ALCAT test has helped improve the health of hundreds of thousands of people around the world who suffer from a wide range of symptoms.
ALCAT is Better than IgG Testing
ALCAT Test
- Immune cell culture and direct testing approach
- Far more meaningful based on clinical experience
- Consistent and reliable results
- Helped hundreds of thousands worldwide
IgG Testing
- Debatable accuracy and reliability
- Results shift based on recent consumption
- Widely criticized for inconsistency
- Misleading — flags recently eaten foods
ALCAT is NOT an "Allergy" Test
Our body reacts to foods and chemicals in many different ways. The ALCAT test does not specifically test for classic or "true" IgE-mediated food allergy.
If you already know that you have a Type 1 or IgE-mediated allergy, you must continue to avoid those items regardless of the results of the ALCAT test. If you have a true food allergy, even a tiny amount of the offending food can cause an immediate, severe reaction.
Who Benefits Most from ALCAT?
The test is especially useful for those who, after a proper medical evaluation, are having continued problems with gastrointestinal intolerance which affects their overall nutritional status.
Prolonged exposure to intolerable foods, even in minute doses, can cause a chronic and smoldering body-wide inflammatory response that can be associated with symptoms in many seemingly unrelated areas of your individual health. By making dietary and lifestyle changes based on your ALCAT results, we essentially quell the inflammation and see a reduction in the many vague clinical symptoms patients report.

To order your ALCAT Test: Call our office at (734) 419-6176, extension 22. We will schedule you to either come to our clinic for a blood draw (phlebotomy fee included in listed price), or we can have ALCAT mail the test kit to you directly for an in-home draw (mobile phlebotomy fee included in listed price).
ALCAT Clinic or Phone Consultations
Once the results of your ALCAT test have been reported to our office, we will schedule you for a consultation to go over the results. This consultation can happen in-person or over the phone, whatever you prefer, and will generally be scheduled 4 to 5 weeks after ordering the test.
For out-of-area clients who opt for in-home blood draw services, 1–3 days after ordering your test you will receive a phone call to coordinate your in-home blood draw and specimen care courier. You do not need to discontinue any supplements and/or medications prior to your blood draw. Just make sure you are adequately hydrated and home when you have scheduled collection.
During your consultation, Maureen will go over your results in detail, explaining your foods and chemicals to avoid, and for how long. She will also help you to understand what foods to eat on a regular basis and which foods to rotate. If there are foods that you eat on a regular basis that you are intolerant to, Maureen will assist you in coming up with alternatives that align with your tolerables.
